Every day, 500 children are trafficked for sex in Seattle. Multiple times each. As shocking as this is, the problem of child sex trafficking isn’t widely known. To inspire people to take action – and with virtually no budget – we created a grass-roots campaign around the theme of “Not In My Backyard”, featuring yard signs, social content promoting one action idea each week for 12 weeks, and a newsworthy stunt featuring 500 white roses representing innocence placed on the Aurora Bridge, close to where much of the trafficking takes place. All of which resulted in a record-setting year of fundraising for the organization.
